C - Integrated Resource Management

Research Area Goals

Integrated Resource Management (IRM) research analyzes tradeoffs implied in alternative management strategies. The aim is to:

* Find management and policy solutions that resolve the conflicts and co-existence of multiple forest uses and values, such as timber, Aboriginal culture and use, recreation, and the preservation of biodiversity and ecosystem integrity; and
* Develop and assess IRM strategies, using innovative planning tools, and sustainability criteria and indicators.
