The Role of Protected Areas in Sustainable Forest Management

Halifax, Nova Scotia

September 11-12, 2008

As part of the SFM Network's State of Knowledge project on the role of protected areas in sustainable forest management, two workshops were held in eastern and western Canada in Fall 2008.  The workshops focused on the values associated with protected areas for sustainable forest management, and the range of regulatory and policy tools that can be applied to facilitate the relationship between protected areas and sustainable forest management.
